Bone Marrow Biopsy and a Shoe

Do you ever see a shoe on the highway and think...

WTH?

Why is it there? What happened to the other shoe? What happened to the person that was wearing the shoe?

That's what I wondered on my drive home from Richard's bone marrow biopsy.

Richard's Bone Marrow Biopsy

Pretty much on time. It was the Francophone doctor (who's name escapes me) who has never performed one of Richard's bone marrow biopsies before.

She was AMAZING! Maybe too amazing. It was a beautiful and quick pull of aspirate and she was in and out getting the bone sample with the big giant hollow needle. I will not divulge the gory details of when she wanted to be 'sure she got the sample'. I'll leave that to Richard.

He says he was glad she was in and out. It was all over in about less than 10 minutes. He was making some pretty funky noises from the pain though, so....

We'll wait and see what he writes on his blog, shall we?

He is home and napping now. He's pretty sore and not feeling well. (perhaps the Morphine)

Thank yous

Erica - Thanks for offering to take the boys. It was nice to be able to be with Richard during the procedure, and I know it meant a lot to him to have me there.

Mom - Thanks for worrying.
