Fun Fun Fun Dip - And Not So Fun Fun Fun Drip

So, I think it was Aunt Elaine who said to 'turn the camera on yourself sometime'.  While cuddling with Dexter tonight right before his bedtime and contemplating updating the blog, I had Richard grab the camera.  Yup, that's me.

Firstly, Fun Dip!

AJ and I had a nice visit to the library today to take back our books and pick up our new ones.  We have three book bags.  One, is board books for Dexter.  AJ picks those out.  The second is AJ's 'readers' that are pre-K or level 1 style books that he can, for the most part, read himself, or with minimal help.  We were very excited to find Spiderman, X-Men, Superman, and Batman ones this time (although they were like level three, and he cannot read those) to take home.  Lastly, just regular stories that we read for bedtime each night.  So, as you can see, it's not very baby-conducive, and therefore, we left Dexter at home with Richard.  AJ, once again, was a lovely angel at the library.  I decided he was deserving of a very special treat!

The elusive Fun Dip that Daddy brought home a couple months ago.  Don't get me wrong.  AJ's had candy before, but I've been hesitant to give him straight-up sugar, especially after seeing what two doughnuts can do to him.

I figured, he needed to be taught what to do.  This package came with two sticks and three flavours.  I put a bib on him. I showed him what to do. He tried it, but seriously, it took him a couple tries to really get the proper coating of sugary goodness on the stick.

Next, I brought Dexter to the table (this is about 20 minutes before dinner).  I didn't even get a chance to show him what to do!  He picked up the stick.  He licked it.  He stirred it around in the powder.  He licked off the powder.  It was sooo Dexter.

Friday's Fun Fun Fun

Auntie Jen was going to be away for a scrapbooking weekend.  No, I did not have her three kids for the weekend.  However, I did have them for a little over 2 hours running through dinnertime! Here's some of the dinnertime cheer!

Makenna and AJ sat at the coffee table on some stools, like we do for lunch.

The babies all sat at the table with Richard and I.

Richard does not look very impressed here, but truly, he was in good spirits.  That face is just probably his dismay at yet another crappy meal made by moi.  Seasoned chicken breast, cooked carrots, and some KD.

Saturday's Fun Fun Fun

Couldn't remember what I did this day until I got up to get a drink and my sore muscles reminded me.

After getting my coffee this morning, my plan was to go on a grand nature walk, but AJ only wanted to go around our path out back (in hopes that his friends Emily and Claire would be home).  His friends weren't home, so we headed home to play in the backyard.  After some serious hockey, soccer, baseball, and lacrosse with AJ while Dexter sat in the Cozy Coupe, the boys played together and I raked leaves.  And more leaves, and more leaves, and more leaves.

Sunday's Fun Fun Fun

I took the boys to the pool for Loonie Swim this morning.  It cost me only $2 for me and the two boys to go swimming!  That was nice.  The boys had a great time.  I think Dexter went down the slide about 30 times, and he slipped on the pool deck about 4 times.  AJ spent most of the time seeing how many times he could make it around the very deep toddler pool by scaling the edge.

In the evening, my mom and Ken came for a visit.  They brought doughnuts.  AJ was VERY excited.  He ate two.  And boy oh boy, did it show!  YIKES!

Richard -Not So Much Fun Fun Fun

Well, it appears as though Richard's fungal infection has spread to his liver.  Sounds scary, right?  Sounds alarming, right?  But no one seems very worried.  So, I guess I should just relax.  He's still on the anti-fungal drip.  Richard's saying that it's possible they may postpone the last round just a bit more, but he'll still move into the Cancer Lodge on Wednesday for two reasons.  One, the commute is wearing on him terribly.  Two, he doesn't want to lose his spot.

Otherwise, Richard has been wonderful as always.  He's really trying to 'get things taken care of' before he moves out.  The night that Jen's kids were over, he was so helpful.  Asking all the dreamy things every wife wishes their husband would ask like, "Just tell me if there's anything I can do to help" or "what do you need me to do next".  Ahhhhhh, yes, he truly is that wonderful.

Dishwashing Fun Fun Fun

I still have no dishwasher.  This handwashing is working out okay though. My counters are cleaner than usual.  Hmmm, odd.

Fun Fun Fun Movies

Richard has a habit of putting on 'not so child friendly' movies for AJ in the evening to watch bits of with him.

This is what AJ's been singing lately.  "Who you gonna call?  Ghostbusters!"

We've also been watching The NeverEnding Story.  I forgot that one gets a little scary!
